Founder & Principal Architect
As founder of reBuild Workshop, Themis Haralabides has led the transformation of more than 50 historic New York City properties into contemporary, high-performance homes, many designed to Passive House principles. He leads an integrated team of architects, designers, craftsmen and builders, bringing together design rigor, hands-on craftsmanship, and exceptional project delivery, to ensure ensuring every project meets the highest standards of innovation, sustainability and execution.
Before founding reBuild, Themis was a Senior Designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), where he played a pivotal role in shaping landmark public projects across the U.S. and internationally, including the Moynihan Train Hall in New York City, Terminal 4 at JFK, and the Denver Union Station Multi-Modal Hub.
reBuild’s work has received widespread recognition in leading design and architectural publications, including The Architectural Review, Architectural Digest, Domino Magazine, Architect Magazine, and The New York Times.
Themis is a registered architect in New York, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and a LEED® Accredited Professional. He holds a professional degree in Architectural Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
